WHAT IS A "POINT 2 VUE®” (P2V) ?

POINTS 2 VUE® is an installation that occupies a space with one or more identical sculptures that are shaped like empty frames serving to highlight a view that is not pictorial but real and directly linked to the spectator's point of view.

THE WORK :

The POINT 2 VUE offer strollers real works of art. Sculpture-objects in the round that the spectator can walk around and touch, something one cannot do in a museum where the works are hung on the wall or set on the ground and acquire a quasi-sacred character.

The proportions of each frame are harmonious and very carefully studied. The steps, the base, the rounded bars are all the result of ergonomic art that mirrors the physiology of a staircase. The color: black, means that the base of the works blends into nature leaving the gold frame above to dominate. The steps symbolize the notion of progression borne of the desire to find an answer to the initial question one poses oneself, what is going to happen once I access this enigmatic frame? What surprise will I find once I have finished this symbolic climb upwards towards the unknown? Finally one reaches the frame; traditional in form, rectangular, golden-colored and slightly aged. The frames symbolize Painting and represent 21st century artist MA2F's tribute to all of Art History. Visually the golden color of the frame does not take away from the various colors that are used in a painting, since it does not modify the tones.

The P2V installation created by Marc-André 2 FIGUERES, illustrates in a spectacular way that no image can be reduced to a single interpretation, even a powerful one. That reality is never static but always free and subject to change and circumstances.

Following his "Erotic Theory of the Collioure Bell Tower" that established the concept of the erotic power of the funnel, or of hermaphroditic objects, MA2F ends his trilogy with Points 2 vue as the sole element of demonstration.
